So it looks like it is actually happening - what was potentially the most ridiculous idea I've/we've ever had seems to be coming together as an actual tangible plan.
Three months ago when the idea was first touted it seemed like something kind of interesting and a little bit different - I mean 1-2 years in a foreign country (in particular one as beuatiful as Papua New Guinea) seems more like a holiday than a job, right?So we've had the panicked discussions over role clarity, um'ed and ah'ed over the security situation, discussed and deliberated on the lifestyle and living conditions, questioned our sanity (and had our sanity questioned!) on whether it's right to bring our one year old to a third world country and we've finally arrived at the decision that says "yes - let's do this".
That is: a secondment to PNG for work, moving the whole family up and hopefully becoming a better person for the whole experience.
